March 19, 2026 – Hikvision has joined forces with Neural Labs—a pioneer in advanced computer vision and AI for Smart Cities and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)—to embed its advanced Neural Edge vehicle analytics and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) software into Hikvision’s DeepinView-Series 7-Line cameras. This combination creates an extremely powerful solution which is suited for various Smart Cities and ITS applications.

The solution extracts vehicle attributes—such as license plate numbers, make, model, color, classification and speed—so they can be used to monitor and manage traffic flows and improve overall decision making capabilities. The processing for this can happen either centrally or at the edge, in a fully distributed deployment.

Neural Edge is a strategic pillar in this architectural design. It is an embedded in-camera solution that delivers advanced vehicle analytics directly from an intelligent camera—in this case Hikvision 7-Line cameras—reducing latency, infrastructure complexity, and total cost of ownership.

With Neural Edge software embedded in them, Hikvision 7-Line cameras are particularly suitable for use in Smart Cities—where they support security, enforcement, and mobility departments—and in ITS and highway environments where they can be used in Automatic Incident Detection solutions and to provide advanced tolling-related analytics.
